Several Dancers Core, Emory University Dance Program, and The Field present:

A mixed discipline workgroup for independent artists: choreographers, musicians, composers, writers, poets, playwrights, performance artists, filmmakers, visual artists, and artists who merge the disciplines
Several Dancers Core in partnership with Emory University Dance Program and The Field NY present Fall Fieldwork beginning Monday, September 29.

Fieldwork consists of facilitated performing and viewing of works-in-progress for artists of all disciplines, with feedback from other independent artists in the community. Fieldwork sessions are designed to be useful for artists working in various disciplines including Dance, Theater and Writing.

The Fieldwork method originated in New York over 22 years ago, and Several Dancers Core has been offering Fieldwork workshops for the Atlanta arts community since 1992. The workshops will provide support, structure, and community to help artists immerse themselves fully in their creative work. The feedback method reveals how each piece is perceived by others and provides detailed information that helps artists hone their vision. By focusing on what's happening in the work and how those choices shape the work, Fieldwork supports autonomy and authorship of each artist.

The workshop will be facilitated by CORE Performance Company member and founder of Crossover Movement Arts, Blake Dalton.

The informal showcase performance will be held at Emory University's Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, December 7 at 5:00 p.m. For more information about Several Dancers Core and The Field, visit www.severaldancerscore.org or thefield.org
